It is the highest compliment when a beloved customer returns to CouCou Natsuha year after year to trust us with their most special celebrations. For the past few birthdays, we've had the immense joy of creating whimsical princess cakes—from Princess Jasmine to Rapunzel and Ariel—each a treasured memory.
This year, however, marked a wonderful new direction! A fabulous young lady turned 10, and she chose to celebrate this milestone with an elegant, modern flavour favourite: Biscoff! We were thrilled to create a breathtaking Biscoff "Revealing" Cake for her family gathering and beautiful pastel fairy cupcakes for sharing with her friends at school. This post is a celebration of this sophisticated shift in style and the bespoke artistry that makes every CouCou Natsuha creation a one-of-a-kind centrepiece.
The Reveal: Biscoff as Edible Gems

The "revealing" style itself is utterly inviting and gorgeous! It’s an innovative design where Biscoff biscuits peek out from the side of the cake, looking like beautiful, tempting gems embedded in the buttercream. The technique requires meticulous care, and we've enhanced the artistry by decorating the fault lines where the biscuits "reveal" with subtle, luxurious edible gold. Furthermore, each Biscoff biscuit on the cake is given a touch of edible shiny sparkle, elevating it from a simple cookie to a glittering decoration.

The colour palette is an unexpected delight: the deep blue hues of fresh, seasonal British blueberries, the inviting warm brown of the Biscoff, and the soft, elegant off-white of our Italian meringue buttercream harmonize perfectly for a modern, refined look.
Bespoke Signature: Aurelia is 10
Climbing to the top of the cake, you find the stunning, bespoke signature detail: "Aurelia is 10," designed specifically for this occasion. This is the heart of CouCou Natsuha's custom service.
I personally design the script, precisely cut out the template, and stencil the signature onto the cake in beautiful gold. This level of dedication and customisation immediately elevates the entire cake to a premium level, making it an utterly unique and bespoke creation that the customer will not find anywhere else.
Layers of Luxury: The Biscoff Crunch Filling
What truly sets this cake apart is the flavour and texture waiting inside. Once you slice into it, you are rewarded with a wonderful surprise!
The cake is generously filled with a velvety Biscoff buttercream, complemented by exciting, crunchy layers made from crushed Biscoff biscuits, all bound together with Biscoff spread. We affectionately call it the "BBB" (Biscoff Buttercream and Biscuits) filling!
As with all CouCou Natsuha creations, this cake features our signature Italian meringue buttercream, which is distinctly lighter, less sweet, and fluffier than traditional offerings, appealing perfectly to both discerning London foodies and our Japanese customers who prefer a less-sugary finish.
